through her mouth and nose, and was able to swallow :) Good day!

Amy has moved from intensive care back to
the progressive care unit and so far she is stable! We still have a
long road ahead so getting ready emotionally and physically to bring my
baby girl home! She will enjoy being back home I am sure. Just some
things to figure out like a van to transport her with wheel chair. God
is with us!

Amy Sue had surgery today about 4:45 pm and
arrived back into PICU about 8:45 pm. The neurosurgeon felt the surgery
went well. Her skull plates are back in her head and she has an
internal shunt to drain excess fluid. Whew! stressful day! Please pray
she does not develop any infections. God Bless!

step down unit last night and she appears to have handled the transition
well so far! I am working on getting her transferred to Brooks Rehab

Update~Monday March 8, 2010
Sue is back in Orlando at the hospital and Amy is scheduled for surgery on
Friday! Hospital said she may be discharged next week. Sue spoke to someone
at Brooks Rehab in Jacksonville but not sure if they will take her or
not yet. Otherwise she will be home.
Update~Saturday March 6, 2010
Just wanted to update everyone on our last week in Orlando. Amy Sue is
currently off the ventilator and breathing on her own with a trach
collar. She is having neurological "brain storms" and has periods of
increased heart rate, increased breathing, and rigid muscles. She has
been slowly getting weaned off methadone and valium. She appears to be
having some withdrawal symptoms and with the brain storms it is hard to
determine which one is affecting her. She looks much better with the
road rash wounds healing up nicely and not having a ventilator in her
mouth. She is getting fed with a G-tube with Pedisure and so her
weight is remaining stable so far. She is scheduled for a CT scan of
her head on Sunday. Amy is still in pediatric intensive care. She has
a few more surgeries scheduled for sometime in the next month.
The kids and I are back in Edgewater for the weekend. Lauren and Noah
are spending most of the weekend with their friends and I am just
taking a much needed break! We are so very thankful to each and
everyone one of you for your prayers and kindness! God Bless you all!
